FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
GENERAL EXPERIENCE FAQs
What is a private hot air balloon flight?
A private flight means the entire balloon is reserved just for your group — no strangers, no shared baskets. It’s a calm, personalized, luxury experience designed around you, your schedule, and your occasion.
How long does the experience last?
Plan for 2.5–3 hours total:
~45–60 minutes of flight time
Launch setup, inflation, landing, and pack-up
Post-flight celebration and photos
The flight itself is just part of the adventure.
How many people can fly?
Most private flights are designed for 2 passengers, but additional passengers may be possible for an added fee depending on balloon size, conditions, and total weight.
Can I help with setup or takedown?
You’re welcome to watch, take photos, and ask questions — and if you’d like to help with setup or pack-up, we’re happy to include you. Many guests enjoy being part of the process and find it adds to the experience.
That said, helping is never required or expected. Our crew handles everything, and you’re free to simply relax and enjoy the flight.
Where do you fly?
We operate private flights in Eden and American Fork, offering exceptional scenery and smooth flying conditions. Your selected location is reserved for your flight, though the exact launch point may shift slightly for optimal weather. For special occasions or unique requests, alternate locations may be possible if conditions allow.
How high do hot air balloons fly?
Most flights range from treetop level to a few thousand feet above the ground, depending on wind and conditions. Pilots vary altitude throughout the flight to provide different perspectives and views.
What will we see during the flight?
Each location offers its own unique beauty. Expect a mix of mountain views, open valleys, lakes, farmland, neighborhoods, and parks, depending on where you fly. As the balloon moves with the wind, new views unfold every minute. Wildlife often appears below, and sunrise light makes every color pop.
No two flights offer the same view — that’s the beauty of ballooning.
When do you fly?
Hot air ballooning happens during the coolest, calmest parts of the day. Most flights take place at sunrise, with select evening flights available when conditions allow. These times offer the safest winds and the best light.
Where do we meet for my flight?
You’ll receive your exact meeting location the evening before your flight once weather and launch details are confirmed. A reminder message is also sent the morning of your flight to ensure everything is on track.
Are kids allowed?
Children may be allowed depending on age, height, and conditions. Because guests must stand for the duration of the flight, we recommend contacting us to discuss your group so we can advise appropriately.
PRICING & VALUE
Why are your flights more expensive than other companies?
We specialize in private, premium experiences — not shared rides. Our pricing reflects:
A private balloon and specialized commercial pilot
Longer, personalized, and unrushed experiences
A professional, dedicated crew
Optional champagne, drone footage, and celebration packages
This is not a “tour.” It’s a custom experience that you will remember forever.
Are shared rides available?
No - We specialize in premium, private experiences — not shared rides.
A hot air balloon flight is a bucket list item you are only going to do once, we believe it is an adventure that should be experienced the right way. Therefore, All of our standard flights are private by design. No crowded baskets full of strangers here.
Do you offer discounts?
Occasionally we release limited seasonal promotions. Availability is very limited due to weather and flight capacity.
WHAT TO WEAR & BRING
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes
Closed-toe shoes (no sandals or heels)
Dress in Layers — mornings can be cool
Warm socks for winter flying
Dress like you’re going on a casual outdoor adventure, but feel free to dress up for your occasion. Our crew takes photos throughout the experience, and many guests choose to look their best for these memorable moments.
Is it cold up there?
Not usually. Balloons float with the wind, so there’s very little wind chill. Temperatures often feel similar to what you experience on the ground, with added warmth from the burner above.
Can I bring my phone or camera?
Yes — and you’ll want to. Phones and cameras are welcome; just make sure they’re secure so they can’t be dropped.
SAFETY & WEATHER
Is hot air ballooning safe?
Yes. Hot air ballooning is one of the safest forms of aviation when operated correctly. We fly only in proper weather conditions and may cancel or reschedule if safety is compromised.
What if I’m afraid of heights?
You’re not alone — many guests feel nervous at first. Most people aren’t afraid of height, but of ledges. In a hot air balloon, the tall basket walls create a secure, enclosed feeling. Guests are usually anxious for the first 5 minutes, then relax and fully enjoy the experience.
Our pilots are trained to keep you safe, explain what’s happening, and help you feel comfortable from takeoff to landing.
What physical requirements ensure a safe flight?
Guests should be able to:
Stand for about an hour
Hold onto handles during landing
Step into the basket (or use our door basket with assistance)
Follow pilot instructions throughout the flight
If you have mobility limitations, we can often accommodate them with advance notice. Please call us with any concerns.
Do you fly older adults or guests with special needs?
Yes — absolutely. We regularly fly older adults and guests with limited mobility and work hard to make the experience accessible.
Standing Ability: Guests should be able to stand for about an hour. Accommodations may be possible with advance notice.
Walkers & Mobility Aids: Walkers are welcome and may be brought into the basket; they do take additional space, so we plan accordingly.
Gentle Takeoffs & Landings: When needed, we carefully schedule flights and choose ideal weather conditions for a softer experience.
Door Basket Access: We offer a door basket, allowing guests to walk into the basket rather than climb over the side.
If you have questions or unique needs, please call — we’re happy to help.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes. Weight limits ensure safe operations and proper performance of the aircraft. We’ll confirm details discreetly during booking.
What happens if the weather isn’t good?
Safety always comes first. If conditions aren’t ideal, we’ll reschedule your flight at no penalty or offer a refund according to your booking terms. Weather calls are typically made the night before, but the pilot may make a final decision the morning of the flight if conditions change.
Will my flight be canceled often?
Most flights operate as scheduled, but ballooning is 100% weather-dependent. Flexibility is key to a great experience, and we always prioritize safety.
UPGRADES & SPECIAL OCCASIONS
Do you offer champagne or celebration packages?
Yes. We offer a full range of upgrades designed to elevate your experience — including Champagne & Mimosa service, birthday and anniversary packages, proposals, and custom celebrations. Signage, crystal flutes, and flowers transform your flight into a once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Do you offer professional photos or video?
Yes. We offer professional aerial photo and video upgrades, including cinematic drone footage captured by Part 107-certified pilots, providing a unique perspective of your flight and the landscape.
Can you help plan a proposal or surprise?
Absolutely. We regularly assist with engagements, surprise flights, anniversaries, and milestone celebrations, helping coordinate timing, signage, champagne, and privacy.

How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking several weeks in advance, especially for weekends, holidays, and peak season dates.
What if I need to reschedule?
We understand plans can change. With advance notice, rescheduling is often possible, and we’ll make every effort to accommodate you. For the best options, please contact us as soon as possible.
